PRESUMPTIVE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEES JOHN MCCAIN AND BARACK OBAMA TO SPEAK AT 2008 NCLR ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN SAN DIEGOThe National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., announced today that presumptive presidential nominees Senators John McCain (R–AZ) and Barack Obama (D–IL) will speak at the 2008 NCLR Annual Conference held at the San Diego Convention Center, July 12-15. The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), opened its 18th Annual Conference and Career Expo this week at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. Expected to draw over 7,000 attendees from across the nation, the three-day event offers presentations from world-class leaders representing non-profits, higher education and corporate America. It also includes a multitude of networking opportunities and showcases an amazing career expo with over 300 corporations and universities. This year’s conference theme, “Leading With Influence,” focuses on how the National Society of Hispanic MBAs is working to improve opportunities for Hispanic students and professionals. Through its scholarship program and new University Partnership Program, NSHMBA is removing the financial barrier that often keeps Hispanics from pursing graduate business degrees.
